DESCRIPTION: Another special SSB Release which features our homegrown Chocolate Habaneros aka The Congo Brown. Our intention with this release was to showcase the awesome flavour profile of this wonderful chilli which originally hails from the Caribbean, so we've kept this one quite simple in regards to ingredients in order to achieve that.
The end result showcases and compliments the beautiful habanero forward sauce with a fruity and fiery flavour profile. The heat from the chillies continues to build slowly. The chocolate variant of the habanero, is renown for being the hottest in the family, and you will definitely get to see that with this release. It is also important to note that it is called the Chocolate Habanero because of the colour of its flesh, not because of it's taste! Zero chocolate was used in this recipe!!
INGREDIENTS: Chocolate Habanero Chillies, Vinegar, Grilled Onion, Brown Sugar, Lime, Garlic, Tomato, Salt.
FLAVOUR: On the nose you instantly smell the unique scent of the Chocolate Habanero, coupled with garlic, roast onions, lime and vinegar. On the palate, you get the earthy chilli notes and back of the throat bite that Habaneros are famous for. A subtle sweetness from dark brown sugar is also present, as are savoury notes from grilled onion, garlic and tomato, which combines perfectly with the tanginess from vinegar. A touch of lime is noticeable on the finish.
HEAT: Hot (7/10).
POUR: Medium thickness.
PAIRING: Mexican cuisine, toasties, burgers, BBQ's.
